Karen S. Nelson joined Carlson & Burnett, LLP as a partner in January of 2016. Previously, she worked in private practice since 2005. Karen graduated from Coe College in 1991, magna cum laude, and from Creighton Law School in 1994, cum laude. Karen clerked for Judge Richard Sievers at the Nebraska Court of Appeals after graduation from Creighton Law School.
Previous Work Experience
Karen served as Deputy Douglas County Attorney from 1997 to 2005. While in the Douglas County Attorney's Office, Karen prosecuted many complex criminal law cases and gained appellate experience. Although Karen has always practiced trial law, she has narrowed her practice to focus on domestic law, criminal law and adoptions.
